Its not a six pack per se, but when i'm on form, the abs are quite visible when I tense up. But then again, I wanna get huger, so abs aren't a priority for me.

Havnt seen my abs in a decade..

Does that mean being able to see you abdominal muscles? Cause I can do that with very little effort.

All the 6packs from the offie prevent me having one :(

Hopefully will by the end of the year, I am in no rush, if I stretch the skin tight you can sort of make out a 4-pack! I would guess I am ~13% BF ATM.

oh I have a six pack but its covered in a layer of flab

Have put on weight (muscle and fat) in the last 2-3 years so mine has disappeared but hopefully by the end of the BSBBSC some of it will be visible again

Same here. I have'nt seen my since I was 19. Thats 13 years ago. As hard as I train even now, I'm unlikely to ever see one again.

I voted the don't want one. I actually have no interest in having a six pack. however I am hoping that I may get one in around 12 weeks or so if the first 8 weeks of the challenge go alright and then I can say I had one but I have no interest in keeping it afterwards as chances are it will do feck all for me it would be

Me: "hey look I have a 6 pack"
person B: "cool what tricks can it do"
    Me: "ehhhhhhhhh"

Have one, it took a lot of work to get and is a nightmare to keep I like my junk food too much.

They could probably do with a bit more targeted work, but they are there and primed for action unless I've just had a large meal :pac:

    Why not?

Because just sometimes, form will follow function.

    Try it.

Think about it logically for two seconds. How many sprinters, boxers, cyclists, dancers, swimmers etc wake up one day and think "I'm gonna train really hard for a six pack, who knows, i might win a comp on the way."

its more of a keg than a 6 pack.

I actually have no interest in having a 6 pack however I just want to see what effort I would have to put into getting one and see if I can actually do it. It's the journey and not the destination that holds my interest

Ive a four-pack without tensing, does that count? Lower abs arent there. Six pack when I tense... I'd do more chest work than ab work, always found that six-packs come along if you train the rest of your body enough and just let them peek out when they feel in the right mood.:D

I dont have one but can pull the top 2 out at over 20% bf

Don't have one, would definitely love one, but have a rather difficult to shift insulation layer hiding its glory. Hopefully come June/July it'll look a little more appealing though.

Mine is starting to remerge i usually only cut for the summer as i go away for around two months every summer. If everything goes to plan i hope to be wooowing the ladies on the beaches of thailand with a set of washboard abs.

Beware of thin thai ladies sporting 6-packs, they are probably sporting a pair of liathroidi too ;)

I have a quite defined 6 pack when I tense, and sometimes like 1st thing in the morning and after a work out especially after doing abs it shows quite well. My diet isnt the best, its not "bad" but it could be a whole lot better, I'd say that if I improved that I'd have a good 6 pack.

    I have an 8-pack :D

And I never, NEVER do ab work. No sit-ups, no swiss ball saxon super serratus side twists, none of the lark.

I've had it since I have fed myself independently(ie mommy stopped cooking and I went to college). Abs are made in the kitchen guys. I eat very healthy.
The deep heavy front squats probably help too. :p

Don't have one YET, but then again i don't do alot of ab work and still need to drop another 3-4% BF to have em visible.

To those that would have a visible 6-8 pack through exercise + diet, how much work do you put into maintaining that look, i can imagine sticking to a regime would be involved...

Yes. It's covered in a thickish layer of fat though. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,919 ✭✭✭Schism

I used to have a 6 pack if I tensed, then I discovered alcohol.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

Did, but long covered by fat in the bulking process....

but that said when I had it, I was just a skinny rake...so I prefer the way I am now.

i've a keg and two taps

I've never had one but I want one and this will be my year to get it. By the end of June.

Just gotta get rid of some belly flab first...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,031 ✭✭✭Lockstep

I seem to have one but it's really just as I have no fat covering it.

I'm putting on weight at the moment so it'll probably be gone in time.

I've never had a six pack or been remotely close to having one. I'm a total flabster, runs in the family. I got down to 14% body fat at one stage with just ridiculous cardio and bad eating, but still had the pot belly.

I'm going about things more scientifically now and have dropped from 24 to 20% BF, belly shrinking but I still look ridiculous with the shirt off.

    Ah well, I'll keep trying.

i use to have a savage one but hair growth and binge drinking have seen the end of it. i still have pretty strong abs and am looking to reclaim past glories
but it's bloody hard work and i have little discipline anymore as regards diet exercise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 399 ✭✭estariol

to those that answered yes, what approx bf% do you estimate you have? and if you have to work to achieve 6 pak what do you do to target individual groups?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 870 ✭✭✭Pen1987

according to the measuring tape test thingy I have 8% BF but I'd be very surprised if it was that low on a calipers test!
