To Samsung 40" or keep cash in pocket?

Currently wondering if I should invest in a 40" Samsung (LE40M86) that's on special in Currys. The offer of €1099 is ending today.

Have sky+, standard DVD player and a Wii. I don't have much intention of getting Sky HD (although I may get a second hand HD box at some stage to see what BBC HD is like) If I bought the TV I'd end up getting a blu-ray player or PS3; something that can also play my collection of *cough* region free *cough* DVD's too..

Heard that the quality of normal sky varies. Currently have a very cheap (and quite old) argos 28" CRT tv and while that's still working, it's beginning to show it's age.

Should I bother or will I just keep my wads of cash in pocket?

Have one of those sammy tv's myself, bought it less than a year ago for €2000 including stand and have no complaints whatsoever, it is a class tv and you are getting a bargain for €1099.

My advice, get this tv NOW!!:)

how's the quality with standard sky? Debating also if the living room is big enough to take the TV :D

I reckon viewing distance would be about 10ft

the quality with the sky is great and 10ft sounds about right, though I still move my chair closer when playing the ps3 to get even closer to the action:)

was originally looking at getting it from komplett, but when the delivery was over 100 euro, it made far more sense to get it from Currys for 1099 :)
