    Morning all,

Where would I find fish oil, besides the obvious answer? I'm talking about gallon etc measures. I know of three sellers on Ebay but as they're all in the USA postage is a killer due to the weight. Ireland would be excellent but UK source would do also.

    Thanks in advance,

    John :)

    John ,

Is it for baiting foxes, if it is Tuna or Mackerel is the best and if you phoned the fish dealers in Howth, Dublin they may be able to tell you where you can get it.

I was told that a tin of cat or dog food mixed with tuna oil is a great draw for baiting foxs.

    Hope this helps.

If its for baiting foxes try pig or cattle blood . drop into your local abbitor and they would be happy to give you a gallon or two.

You can get Pilchard oil in most tackle shops, pilchards are a very oily type of sardine and its smelly stuff, I see where you're goin with this,it would be perfect:)

    Hi John,

I know this is not the answer to your question, however, I am going up to the buddies sheep farm probably this evening with a very large defrosted salmon (found it in my freezer & it's dated two years ago) to use as bait for fox & hopefully mink.

I intend to sit up there, for a few hours with the lamp & see if anthing takes the bait. I can let you know the outcome if you wish?

Yes, it's for fox, I can also see it working on mink. The cattle/pigs blood is an interesting idea I hadn't considered.

I've tried defrosted mackerel in a couple of spots for a particular fox, he's not taking the bait (pardon the pun)....

Never any harm in trying something new ;)

john , next fox you shoot soak his pelt in a bucket of water for about a week and transfer this water to a squirty bottle , spray this on a trail across your field and they will follow it to sus out the stranger on their patch. It beats crushing down a few thousand cod liver oil capsuls!

Maybe cutting of the smelly bits and using them for a drag trail to a nice patch of open ground would do the job as well. Next one you take has fresh smelly bits.. Might be a bit less troublesome than making fox tea. :D
