Anyone want to defeat Bellum for me?

Hi,
I've got to the stage in Legend Zelda - Phantom Hourglass where Bellum has possessed Linebeck and that's it! Can't do it - I'm totally incapable of defeated this........... Boss.
I've done all the rest and loved it. I did get fed up with the Temple of the Ocean King after a few runs though but I can't do this.
I know what I need to do and even how I'm supposed to do it but that's it!
I hit this wall a few weeks ago and left it in frustration and disgust but now I'm missing it. I've finished Apollo Justice and a few more things since but I miss LOZ. I wanted to finish out the last few bits and find the rest of the Gems etc but what's the use if I can't defeat the B........... Boss Bellum!
There are 2 of us in this predicament.

Any ideas?

Thanks but I've read loads of walkthroughs and FAQs and know the theory but I'm just useless when it comes to the attack. I'm supposed to attack him from the side in the split second that he pulls back before the big strike but he has whopped me before I've even got to his side.

Get him to the corners of the platform, I found that made it easier.

Do you need to have all 20 or 60 of the gems before you can defeat him? Or which 'fairy' should I use when I'm fighting him? Does it make a difference?

Sorry but none of those things make a big difference mate . Try running around him when he twitches (aka lifts his sword) and I think youve to hit him in the back not side. Hope this helps.
