Anyone know if when you stream video from your computer is the Xbox doing all the work or the computer?
Why I ask is i downloaded a sample of a HD movie and it buffered on the xbox but played perfectly.
The sample was only a minute long and I don't have a very powerful laptop so was wondering which device actually did all the work!

Why would you be using your lap top?

As far as I know it's the Xbox that does the work.

yeah i just recently found out how to get my laptop running movies etc over the xbox, its amazing i cant believe i used to wtach movies on the laptop, this is fairly epic i have to say

im loving my xbox even more, my girlfriend is seriously worried, although she prefers it then having the burning laptop on her knees :)

You can use it to stream music too, and for files it can't play just use TVersity.

The PS3 bills itself as your home's media solution but from I've seen the Xbox does a damn good job (albeit slightly noisier).

When I stream movies/episodes from my laptop I have terrible problems with buffering, every couple of minutes or so which makes whatever I'm streaming unwatchable. Would this be just a simple settings issue or a network problem ?

What kind of router are you using ? How far away is the laptop from the Xbox?
