Just wondering what the ballpark price range for wedding rings is? Nothing fancy, just simple platinum bands? One of them will have to be made up specially to fit the engagement ring. Im planning on starting looking next week but Im terrified of being ripped off.

    Thanks in advance,

No idea but I've heard people complaining that this sort of thing is way overpriced in Ireland. People being ripped off in Ireland???

And if you take a trip to Antwerp (seems to a major centre for this) and with the money you'll save the weekend will pay for itself and more

Oh, I hear the classiest people can be seen buying in Argos :D

We got two gold ones for €600 and €700, one had to be customised. Platinum would be a bit more, I guess.

    Looked last weekend for myself.
Went into a jewellers on O'Connell St. in Dublin and looked at a 18ct 4mm gold band for over €600......then went into Fields on Grafton St and the same ring was €265. Shop around

Got our rings made in O'Connors Harolds cross. About €800 for the two (white gold) and mine had to be made specially to fit the engagement ring. His was more expensive as it was much heavier and bigger.

Just married recently. Our wedding rings are plain, mine is platinum and cost €700 and my husbands is a paladium( i think thats the name) looks identical to platinum and cost around €400... mens platinum bands are much more expensive because they are chunky... will prob cost over a grand for your ring if platinum.
    hope this helps
