Brilliant performance from Munster. Utterly destroyed Ulster in every facet of play. An immense performance from O'Gara who looks like a completely different player in a red jersey. Also great to see Howlett get his first score...first of many I hope. If Munster can bring this form into the HC the sky's the limit. Pack awesome too.

Wow. I don't think they played that well to be honest. They destroyed Ulster but the first half was very shakey. I've seen much better Munster performances this year.

I thought they(Munster) played well in phases. What I mean by that is they would play very weel for about ten minutes but then let Ulster back in for a while and then take over again. I enjoyed the match and it was great to see Niall Ronan, O'Conor and O'Leary have good games.

It did seem odd to me that Kidney picked O'Leary ahead of Stringer given that Stringer should be reasonably fresh given the lack of game time he got in the 6 Nations. I'm not complaining, if it's a sign that Stringer isn't a constant lock for the position and creates some competition for it then it's a good thing.

Deccie had said prior to the match that O'Leary hadn't any game time since prior to the first round of the H-Cup and now he was back he wanted to give him some time on the field. I suppose playing against Ulster would be a better test of O'Leary than giving him a 20 minute run out against the Westies when the game is running out of steam like.

Having only got into rugby in the last year or so, for shame, I sometimes wouldn't notice the contribution of players.

Therefore this is coming from the untrained eye, I thought Buckley was a total powerhouse, O'Leary played well as did ROG and the munster number 11, NZ lad, played a stormer.

Those are not bad observations. Would you like to coach Ireland? You seem more qualified than the last guy.

At least you can spot form.:D

The NZ lad did play well at 11. ;)

Munster looked very rusty, but they've got a much much stronger team.

Was it my imagination or does Mafi not play as well if Tipoki isn't playing? Not really a good sign for Mafi's development because Tipoki is 102 and probably only has another two or threes in him.

Thought it was a great performance, extremely cohesive and committed. especially in view of fact that it was the first game post 6N...realise the opposition might have flattered to deceive, but at the end of the day you can only play what's in front of you.

i thought mafi was class. although he wasn't as clinical as i'd like and he did knock the ball on a bit he did show great commitment and pace. he'll only get better too, playing along side o driscoll in ireland's centre next year:D

Sadly Mafi can't qualify for Ireland as he has played 7's for New Zealand.

if you've been living somewhere three years you can play for that country

Only if you haven't played senior representative rugby for another nation, senior rugby is A level, 7's or the National team.

Mafi can't qualify because although he may spend 3 years in Ireland, he has already played 7's for New Zealand.

Warwick can't qualify because he played 7's for Australia.

(Keith Gleeson played for 7's for Australia before the above rules were brought in)

Yeah who is this rookie ? :)

    Howlett's a very canny signing.

I don't think Ireland has a surplus of top class finishers, and someone like Howlett would be perfect for giving Munster the extra edge in club competitions. Moreover, he is for obvious reasons a good player for younger wingers to see up close. Maybe that way Ireland will have our own Howlett. ;)

I thought there were a few holes in Munster's defense which Ulster were just not good enough to exploit but a better team might... Great to see Howlett get a try, and a few decent runs at the Ulster line (in one case I think he was just too fast for the support... )
