Im thinkin upgradin my acoustic in the long run...not for months yet...I have Yamaha Fg730 and i honestly havent played a better guitar in stores or from friends..I love it...But i would like to test the waters a bit and go for somethin a bit more expensive with a solid back and maybe electronics...any good suggestions?

i am in the same boat, and i played the martin dx1 in goodwins on capel street,it looked and sounded fantastic(priced at 550,you wont get it cheaper on line,i checked)nice staff in there as well.it is the entry level martin i know, people might prefer a higher model of another brand(but is it beautiful and plays like a dream)

The DX1 is ok, sounds a bit too thin for my liking, I got this version of it though recently off Thomman and it sounds a million times beter than the normal DX1, although the sides and back are made of weird but cool looking HPL. i'm delighted with it and would recommend it to anyone...

I would most definitely be shooting for a Simon & Patrick.

Martin D-15, think Thomann reduced the price recently too. Beautiful guitar.

God damn it! I'm away for three days and someone beats me to the punch. :p To the OP, you have no idea how much I agree with this statement.
