I have a about 10 days and 1500 quid to spare and was thinking of going for a quick trip in Europe. I was thinking of mainly seeing Austria Germany and Switzerland, and buying the ten day global pass to this end (159€).

Just a few questions, ill be travelling on my own, this is not a problem as I hear you are seldom alone due to the amount of other backpackers I would meet - only questions is, is mid april too early to met other interrailers?

Would 50 quid get me thru each day?

Any recommendations? I am thinking Berlin, Munich, Cologne and Vienna. 4 cities in ten days - enough time?

How old are you? There should be other travellers but they are usually a little older than student travellers (25+) - often Australians on Gap years

    50 quid should be enough

If in Austria try visit Salzburg, its very close to Munich

There is a fairly big distance between those cities, id try and pick places a little closer together, i'd certainly cut out Cologne (not that i've ever been there it just messes up your route imo)

Well it will be quiet as its exam times in universities, a lot of backpackers in Europe are students, but there will be others around

A sample route could be Dublin to Berlin > Munich > Salzburg > Vienna return to Dublin, or Dublin to Berlin > Prague > Munich > Salzburg return to Dublin.

The second one has Ryanair flights both ways, and the first might too, I know there are direct flights but can't remember which airline

Try not to spend too much time on a train, check journey times on www.bahn.de beforehand.

Tip: the train from Munich to Salzburg has some good views
