    Ok, i'll level with you.
I've never really had much interest in the Paranormal, fascinating as it is, just never really hooked me to be honest, but lately ive been thinking about thinks
(followed by discussion ive had with a freind who likes the Paranormal)
Lately my dreams have been coming true freakishly accurately in some form or another!
It's happened a lot throughout my young life, but lately its happening every week or so.
I'll just be blunt and give you a few examples.

Last week I had a dream that my uncle died from cancer! We've never had a family history of cancer, and two days ago I find out he''s been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer ~ weird!

This week I had a dream i accidentally cut my Supervisors finger off (weirdly vivid dream) then the next morning he came in with a bandaged hand.

About a month ago I had a dream that I was on a big wheel with an old friend (who i hadnt seen in about 3 months) then on Paddys Day, went to merrion square, got on the big wheel and I see the same friend in the Carraige ahead of ours. (I told him about it whilst suspended at the top of the Wheel)

These are just the recent exapmle and theres been a hell of alot more.
Basically im weirded out by them. ANyone have any insight on these?
    I'd really appreciate it!

Weird, that's a bit mad alright! The only thing I've ever heard of like that is sharp dreaming. It's where you dream things and they then come true. I don't know why it happens or anything, just that my grandmother was supposed to be a sharp dreamer, that's how heard about it.

    Hey!

Don't worry this happens to me all the time. It's a little freaky but there's nothing you can do to prevent what's gona happen so don't worry. Believe it or not a similar thing happened to me with a cancer dream, only it was my aunt who got sick. Likewise with a few of the deaths in my family. Also, similar to you, a guy I went to school with came into school with a couple of minor burns the day after I dreamt he'd be injured in a crash.

    More freaky...

I dreamt about September 11th the night before but didn't cop on until I seen the images on tv...

Lots more.. but you get the idea!! lol :D

one event i remeber from my childhood was. In first year i had a dream i was on a ghost train with my english teacher, and the next day he comes into class with a t-shirt that said "Ghostrain"
(it was some cult vintage t-shirt, which ive been searching for since)

Haha yeah after a while (with the less serious ones) you can just laugh to yourself. Sometimes when you have very vivid dreams they can leave you feeling really torn and emotional. Just remember, you can't do anything to change the outcome of a certain situation and you are not to blame for anything that 'comes true'. At the end of the day it will happen anyway, you're just picking up on it first. Don't worry too much, write down all of your dreams, I find it very helpful. You'll begin to develop it more and understand it better.

And enjoy the little ironies like the ghost train t-shirt. It becomes quiet amusing!! :p

Its known as precognitive dreaming, where your mind gets a glimpse of future events.I have at least four diaries from the last four years where i have recorded each dream i have at night, sometimes 3 or 4 dreams, its very interesting to do this.
I wonder if you have ever denied any form of psychic traits you may have to yourself?
You said it happend when you were younger. Can i ask if you ever told anyone this as a kid? if so what was there reaction.
I hope i dont upset you when i say that i feel perhaps you should explore your intuitive nature a little more deeply as your more mature now and able to handle it all.
Get yourself a dream diary and jot your dreams down each morning,it will help you remember more and they will be explained to you more.
i find a get so many of these dreams fortelling events ,sometimes im given exact dates and times of events, other times i findmyself travelling to other peoples homes ect and waking with news for them, what you need to start doing is learning to understand your dreams so you can decipher whats clearly just the imagination and whats important. Dont take them literally as most of the time your given information but in a mixed up kind o.f way.

I remember telling someone in school when i was about 8 or 9 and because i was the weird kid, of course they never understood the concept and the small fraction that did, never believed me.

I have a copy that i use to jot down a few words that were key factors in my dreams, All my dreams are intensely vivid so the few words helps me remember everything.

UPDATE: Had dream on Sat night (whilst on a bus back from Derry) that I had Duck dinner laid out infront of me in my sisters house.
Then today when i got in, much to my surpise all the family are sitting around the table and she asked did i want to finish her Duck Szechuan. (hence why i came here to post it.)

As an 8 or 9 year old, these things taking place in an enviornment where it is not understood can be detrimental to you,i know that first hand, hell, things that happened with me when i was that age are only being verified now(and im 34 now)it can have an impact on you to the point where you block it all out, now, the spirit world are giving you major hints that your now capapble of accepting your abilities and using them in a good way.At the moment you are been given hints of events about to take place in the near future,so that you may build up a self trust and have almost immediate proof for what you dreamt,in time, the events will become more detailed and a bit longer away.
It can be a bit daunting at first but you have a good gift, its comes when you are asleep because then you have nothing else on your mind and are more lilkey to accept the information.
    everyone dreams,not everyone remembers.

hmmm, ok now im starting to have further difficulty understanding.
Mostly when you say "spirit world."
I know this is something you do for a living, just saying its all new to me, so forgive the 18 years of being an a skeptic.

How do I know the difference between intervention and coincidence?

The spirit world is where our soul lives ,its where we go when we pass over. Yes i can understand it all sounding very alien to you. We are all skeptical to new events taking place in our mind as our logic sets in and we think its all in our heads or perhaps were going mad. Many here will argue that yes it is all in our minds, thats fine as it their opinion as they see it and being a skeptic is good otherwise you become extremly gullable.
The debates go on and on at this forum as to whos right and whos wrong, until you experience all this for yourself then you cant really form an opinion.
So far,the dreams you have are all about events that are to take place surrounding you and have not been extreme,as a skeptic the first thing you do is say its coincidence,if however these "coincidences" keep occuring then you start to question them.Your dreams are like when you get a deja vu sensation, the difference being you have actually got the run down on the event taking place and not just a feeling that you somehow already had this information.
Until you have come to grips with all the dreams, understanding them, why they happen ect, there is not a lot of intervention you can do.
I will give an example: I had a dream one night were i was shown a newspaper headline in the evening herald,it read of a shooting incident,at a premises belong to a friend of mine,a few months later i then dreamt of 2 men being cornered and shot dead,i felt the death, new exactly how many shots were fired at each and that they both died,i never saw there faces so didnt know who they were,i wont give too many details out as i feel its not safe to blab too much of what you get for safety reasons, anyway, the men were shot as i dreamt,in the area that i dreamt of,the headline in the paper id gotten months before did relate to the owner and it was he who was killed but not at those premises,at another one...so you see,no matter what there was nothing i could have done as i didnt get all the info.
things like this happen quite a lot,ive been given exact dates for events,im pregnant at the minute and before i found out i was given a date and a time in a dream, didnt know why, just knew it to be important,i know thats when my baby will be born.
it takes a long time to understand your dreams so by writing them down every day you get to know how they work and if you can intervene or not.
I myself do not think it is coincidence when we dream of future events,if it was then why does everybody not get the information?
hope i havent confused you more.

There are some interesting theories on this ranging from a flux in the space time continuum resulting in the exposure to future events which we have no conscious memory but recall in our dreams (because that's what dreams do). Also yogi masters having the ability access states of non-ordinary consciousness whereby they can not only perceive life on a molecular plain but also see how they will organise themselves in time to come.

Heaven help us all if my dreams were to come true - they tend towards the surreal to put it mildly!

However there is one exception-they're not predictive dreams, they're about something that's either already happened or-more often-is a 'live broadcast':eek: but they are always true right down to names and faces - whenever a partner is being unfaithful to me I get to watch in my sleep.NOT an enjoyable experience I assure you!If it's a 'gift' it's one I could SO do without!

This reminds me of a sylvia plaith quote that I always find to be true.. I wouldn't consider what you are speaking about as a gift. I would go so far as to say that you have a heightened perception and notice change very easily in your waking life.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 147 ✭✭Kelly O'Malley

Now that's what I call a handy bit of precognition!Remember to check your spare next time you have that dream.

this is more of a wide awake one, but yesterday mid cuddle wih the bf i drifted off to thinking about how an old bf proposed with a cheap silver and cubic zirconia ring, ( i swear, like 20 quids worth. also i was pregnant at the time and had been bugging him, needless to day it diddnt work out) and that it wasnt a real proposal. Anyhoo, literally 5 mins later on boards lookalikes thread, someone proposed! thought that was funny, lol.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 147 ✭✭Kelly O'Malley

That's not precog - that's you hoping that when this bf proposes it'll be with a serious carat rock!
