    Hi folks,

I don't do many rewire jobs in the line of work I'm in, in fact I don't do nixer/foxer work generally, but I do get the odd job courtesy of the Bank of Thanks (famly/friends etc.)

Most of these are free, or in return for a favour, so I'm totally out of touch with what the going rate is.

In a nutshell, I'm going to wire a new build, 6 bed with a lot of little extras in it, for two friends of mine.

I've agreed with them that they will get materials etc., and I'll do the work for a flat hourly fee, which we're both happy with.

What's the going hourly rate in the trade, can I ask? I'm not going to charge them full whack, and himself is going to assist me all the way, so that should speed things up considerably, and save them a few quid along the way. This is a self build in every sense of the word :)

    Advice welcome.

I'm completing a similar job and that system for good mates doing a self-build @ €30 ph. My normal domestic rate is €40ph + parts with mark-up, and industrial machinery rates @ €50 ph.

They are well aware that they are getting a big favour as they are getting materials at cost, but on the plus for me I fit them in at times when I might otherwise not be working due to cancelled jobs etc.

We generally charge €45 per hour. So that can give you an idea as its simular to Andrea B.

Any quick favours I have done for friends etc I'd charge €25 per hr
