JG AUG misfiring

I have the civi version of the JG AUG and have put a fair few rounds through it. Up until now I've had no trouble at all with it. It has started misfiring and may fire a burst of rounds and then nothing for a couple of shots. When I hold my hand infront of the muzzle and dry fire it i can feel the burst of air, so thats not the problem. It happens when using all 5 of the KA mid-cap mags and the stock JG hi-cap mag, so I dont think its a mag issue.

Does any have any experience with this issue or have any advice at all, as I am baffled by this:confused::confused:

From what I've heard those mid-caps aren't the greatest, spray some silicone in the hi-cap if that dosent get yourself some TM hi-caps. Also if the mag is in the gun don't put your hand in front of the muzzle and fire it:D

    Wacka Wacka :pac:..............

Cheers for the replies, sorry have been off the net all weekend.

Vtec: I use excel bb's and have never had a problem with them, but is there any other brand you could suggest.

liamo: Problem still occurs with the hi-cap, even though I always spray a shot of silicon oil into the top of the mags. I might try and get some TM mid-caps as I cant stand hi-caps. Not ta worry either, I didnt have the mag in when I dry fired it;)

Thanks again for the replies and any more info would be much appreciated.

Its likely the feed nozzle or hopup

    1. Take out the barrel assembly, look down it from the front end. Is the hop on too much?

    2. Look into the mag well, check the piece that releases the catch on the mag. its a little black nozzle abou 2 cm long, not all visable though. Is there any damage or wear or is it mishapen?

I doubt the mags are the cause if none work. you have tested the JG Mag right?

Spray some silicone oil in the main compartment and then in the hop-up, you can never have too much lube:D

Oil on the hop up will cancel out the operation of the rubber.
Too much lubrication on moving parts in some applications will cause overheating.

Cheers, I'll give it a good greasin and light on the hop up, luckily it seems to have started working again of its own accord:rolleyes:

If it was set to high it would prevent the bbs from passing it.

That could have been it, some of the bb's were just falling out of the muzzle.. What effect would the hop up being set too low have???

hi all, i have a dboys m4 but 2 of the lads have the civvie aug's and i find em that bit better!! i want to get the military aug a1... was gonna get the JG one but am i better off saving the cents and gettin a CA one? the barrel on one of the lads' clones broke and i dont need the same to happen to me!!! is the extra money worth it for the CA?

realistically there isnt that big a difference to justify spending a lot of money unless you want the exterior quality and trades you get with CA branded stuff., JG are pretty reliable and the internals are far closer to the quality of the high ends than a lot of other clone brands.,
