Hi all, I live in a 70year old 3-bed semi with wooden floors. Many of these floors were originally painted with a black paint but they have also been varnished in parts. I'd like to strip these back and would like your ideas on what's the best way to go about this.

I'm looking for info on the best type of sander and what roughness of paper to use or even whether chemical stripping would be best.

    All advice appreciated.

The only other thread I found on this was here and that was 2005 so I didn't feel like dragging that up! :)
