Vostro1500 dvd burning problem

Whenever I try to burn a DVD using nero 7 or roxio 10,the DVD never burns!The video files which I want to burn usually take about 45 minutes to transcode and when that is complete,the dvd is simple ejected from the drive and an error message saying that the DVD could no be burnt appears. Whenever I try to burn a DVD using nero 7 or roxio 10,the DVD never burns!The video files which I want to burn usually take about 45 minutes to transcode and when that is complete,the dvd is simple ejected from the drive and an error message saying that the DVD could no be burnt appears.
The DVDs which I'm trying to burn onto are dvd-r's and the CD/DVD device is the following:
HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-T11N ATA Device.
Thinking that it could have been the dvd that was the problem,I have tried several different dvd-r's and still no luck.Has anyone experienced this problem before?How can I fix it?

Moved from laptops.

Try CD-Rs, see if they work.
