Quinn Funds

Am thinking of investing in Quinn F and was wondering what sort of spread of funds should be in the prtfolio? I won't be investing huge sums, just €150/€200 per month but am willing to leave it untouched for 10+ years. Given the recent drop in the US market would now be a good time to invest a higher percentage in the US Freeway funds?
What other funds would be good "long -term" bets?

    Cheers,
    sombaht

think about looking at an etf instead, as many funds underperform the indeces after charges

Agreed. And if you are making regular small contributions, they probably work out cheaper.
Disclaimer: I hold ETF's and not QuinnFunds

    Daveirl,
Any particular spread of freeway funds you would recommend? I was thinking . . .
    Euro Freeway: 50%
    US Freeway: 20%
    China Freeway: 15%
    Latin American Freeway: 15%

    cheers,

Tip for Quinn Funds: you can make 2 free fund switches per year, otherwise it's €25 per switch, but I've found out it's per calendar year. So if you time your switches, and your initial investment carefully, you can make 4 free switches in any 12 month period (i.e. June 07 to June 08.)

Is the 1% charge here for their index funds not on the pricey side?

well it's dearer than etfs for sure, but if you want to invest a small amount regularly imho it's the best option as otherwise you could have significant minimum trading costs to put up with even if you're only putting away €100 a month.

plus the fact that quinn sort out the tax side is a plus

They have 12 funds. Four of them have an AMC of 1%, four @ 1.2% and the remaining four @1.5%

1% is fine (personal opinion) for index tracking funds or actively managed for that matter.
