    Hi folks,

heading to Orlando / Disney for 2weeks beginning of May ( with the wife and 2 kids of course ;-). Will be staying on Int. Drive for the first week and then doing the "Villa" thing with friends and their kids for the 2nd week.

Looking for a really nice 4/5 bed villa with all the trimmings - pool / games room / hot-tub - you know, the usual stuff ;-)

    Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Try to get a villa in the Emerald Island Resort - its close to Disney and restaurants etc.

Also I wouldn't recommned a villa unless you are driving over there - public transport is pretty bad

Thanks BJ. Will check it out. Driving has also been decided as a must.

We stayed here (http://www.disney-villa-4u.com/index.html) for 3 weeks in 2006. You'd need a car. Walmart 2or 3 mins by car and Disney was about 30 minutes with Universal about 40 minutes.

I'd have no problem recommending it.

Stick with Emerald Island. It has a decent clubhouse and it is a gated resort community.

If you can't get Emerald Island try Windsor Palms or Windsor Hills.

Out of curiosity - Why and Where are you staying on I-Drive?

Just doin' the Comfort Inn thing ( Cheapskate bugger I hear you say ;-)

Cheap as chips but adequate and more money to blow on a new set of Golf Clubs whilw I'm there. Any opinions on park tickets and car hire ? Better to arrange both here prior to travel or wait until arriving in Orlando before purchase & rental ?

Disney tickets - Undercover tourist website. If you subscribe to the mousesavers website monthly email, you get an additional discount.
Car hire - definetly book in advance. I've used http://www.usrentacar.co.uk/ twice before. Free 1 class upgrades available via their website for Alamo, which again I used. I booked a Full Size 2dr, and got upgraded to a full size SUV/4x4. Toyota Highlander V6. = monster!

    Toy6100,

You need to sample other accommodations!!!!!!!

IMO Winsor Hills (Sevebs link) is an very good location and very good estate.
