What speakers.

Hi folks,

Looking for speakers for an apartment for around €500. I know absolutely nothing about sound systems. I've done a lot of searching and bought the Onkyo SR605 which was recomended by this forum and others and now I'm looking for speakers to go with it. I would prefer small sized but really havn't got a clue about whats good. Was originally thinking of BOSE but having read reviews from different sites turned me off them completly. I had a look in Peats and saw Jamo A102 HCS5 speaker set for €499, had a look on some sites and they seem to be pretty good. Anyone any opinions or suggestions?

These are excellent and a good match for the 605 , I have them myself , recommended is the Avant premiere plus set with the 309 subwoofer .

Thanks Mathias, Will have a look around to see if they're availible anywhere local. What would be the difference between your recommendation and the Jamos ? I read a lot of stuff about the Jamos working at 150mhz but my eye's just glazed over, as I said I havn't a clue about this stuff.

I dont really know the Jamos so cant say , not sure what 150Mhz means either , speakers have a frequency response in Khz ( thats kilohertz ) not Mhz.

Another good package on the richersounds site is the Kef set , they are pretty good as well. Though not as good all rounders as the Mordaunts.

Edit , just checked the link , the Freq. Response is from 150 hz to 20 000 hz , thats just hertz not mega hertz , its the alleged hearing range of the human ear , most speakers would have a similar range ,
