Well the competition only opened yesterday...goes on till 1st of May.

I got an email from them but when I went to log on it said that my email address needed verification???

you should have received another email from them before asking you to "click on this link to verify your email address"

have a search through your old emails for anything with "Canon" in it...

Just as a side note,

has anyone looked at the tutorials and not be overly impressed? (I find it a problem generally that I never feel that an image is particularly great - the masters of photography Ansel Adams, Cartier-Bresson look nice but I just can't see how they are spectacular). Maybe their kind of photography just doesn't appeal to me.

Compare that to Valentia's (Danny's) photo of the gannets(?) - that really held my attention and impressed me. Art is a fickle thing!

Oh and in case anyone thinks that I am sitting on a high horse I do not think I've taken a photo that impressed myself yet (some nice ones perhaps but nothing that makes me stop and stare).

Which leads onto the issue - when you are entering these sort of competitions do you enter what you think will win or what you think is best? Ideally the two should match but I've discovered my tastes and those of judges do not really match...dilemmas indeed!

I would always enter what I thought was my best, but I would agree with you regarding the tutorials...

I got the email and it said I needed to verify my email address. Problem is even before I formatted the hard drive, I didn't get one so I had to use a second email addy.

I've gone through all my emails and I definitely did not get an email to verify my address. Maybe they found out I use a Nikon
