If anyone's local Argos is out of stock, Play.com are offering a 25 pack for a couple of euro more at €15.49.

    DVD-RW here and DVD+RW here

the dvd-r might be cheaper @justmedia but the prices for the dvd-rw @justmmedia are more expensive than those at argos, plus theres a delivery charge on top of that

Thanks OP nice find, works out at about 52c each, and that's for re-writables. I wonder if they're lower priced because they're -RW rather than +RW. I think they're less compatible, especially with older drives. Great price anyway.

    Hi All,

Just popped down and collected the last pack in their Ashbourne store.
However noticed that they are running a buy 2 and get 1 free on all of their Maxell Media on page 581 of their catalogue. This is a continually running offer until they print their new catalogue.
I asked instore if any more packs would be getting delivered. No due date was available. This could have been a really great offer if they had more in stock as it would have worked out at 75 discs for the price of 50 discs, i.e. 0.35c a disc.
Will keep an eye open for more stock.
Also the price of €13.10 is correct and more than likely is due to them being -RW type as mentioned in earlier post.

    Cheers,
    Freebee23

Out of curiosity, what would you want dvdrw for?

Storing 4GB's of data on a disk - eg. I use them for photo collections & for playing movies on the big telly without hooking it up to the laptop...

with rw you can record and erase and record again and again many times.
with just r you can only record once

both dvdr and dvdrw have the same amount of space, only difference is above

Yeah you can re-record on rewritables, as demonstrated on this 1980's TV ad for video tape. :)

I understand that, but does anyone actually rewrite a DVD?

i'd say the write speed is unbearably slow... i know CDRW write speeds are a lot lower than CD-R write speeds
