With the problems that BAPS faced recently does anyone from Boards still play this game ?

I thought I'd create a thread for those that are still around and attract new Boards players.

baps are still going, albiet smaller than before. They recently got peace and are rebuilding. Just sent some aid out to a few of them as recent as a few days ago to help get them on their feet again.

I'm in TOOL. A few other boardsies also scattered across planet bob in various alliances.

The bastards deleted my nation when I was on holidays.

I was gutted, I was only a lowly piss ant of a country but I enjoyed the game none the less

I used to be in the NADC but we got stomped on by NPO/NpO or whatever they are. Then they went and crushed GPA.

I've been rebuilding but I can't get the trades I want. I've got Uranium and Water so I'm thinking of deleting and maybe starting again with new resources. I'm sick of scrabbling for temporary trades from noobs while other nations can sit back and watch the offers roll in.

So, I'm a bit fed up with Cyb.

Also, there's a rumour NpPO are using a script illegally and that admin is turning a blind eye coz they send in so many donations.

If you don't collect taxes for 20 days you automatically get deleted.

Your fault, they didn't delete you.

I can confirm that BAPS is still on the go, we had a rough time there with a bit of unpleasantness but we just got peace and are on the way back... We have our own forums here: http://www.cnalliance.com so if you're from another alliance pop in, say hello...

Out of curiosity, are there many boardsies playing right now???

    BAPS is back :D

? Those should be very appealing to the bigger nations, you need uranium to get nukes and water helps your environment, especially if you have uranium.

I thought so too. I went to the suggestion box on the CN forum to ask them to display the benefits of uranium better. They told me it was fine and bigger nations would trade with me.

I've been playing for 280 days and in all that time I got only one offer of a 10 day temporary trade from a large nation.

    So f e c k that, I'm deleting coz I'm at an unfair disadvantage.

Thats shocking. Maybe the problem is that a lot of alliances are organising their own trade circles. I'm sure any alliance worth their salt would welcome you in with open arms and put you into a decent trade circle.

I am still in MCXA. Been in it (and its precursor CXA) pretty much since I started the game. Used to be big into not not so much anymore. Keep the nation ticking along though.

there's way too much politics in BAPS. Its changed from being a game to being a "simulator" where the smaller nations become a farm for resources for the bigger members nations.

You mean the way we choose leaders and try to interact with other alliances? Politics is an important part of the game, you don't have to get involved in that part if you don't like thats why each alliance has a government and leadership.

As for the farm comment you are probably talking about tech trading within the alliance, the explaination is quite simple:
Large nations need lots of technology to stay high enough in the rankings to get nukes and advantages in battles. Technology is too expensive at that level to buy yourself so you buy it from smaller nations who can get it cheaper. Paying out to other alliances for tech when you have small nations in your own alliance that need the cash doesn't make sense. So if you buy the tech from the small nations in your own alliance then you are keeping the money in your alliance and helping it grow faster.

No I mean that you have no say in how to play the game.

As you mentioned above, its all about trading to get nukes so you can be a superpower, army-wise, so you can fight everyone and anyone. So it would seem war is a big part of the game.

However, if somebody tries to play the game and attack a little nation, then they're givin out to coz they didnt ask for permission to do it!

Er, are you still playing with those resources? Because they are two resources I badly needed!! I had to accept uranium and something else in the end but uranium and water would have been cool!!

The reason tech raiding is frowned upon in the Boards Alliance of Protectorate States (BAPS) is because one particular BAPS tech raid caused us a world of trouble and resulted in a huge war that got us curbstomped. This was despite us checking with various people if the tech raid was okay or not...sometimes people just want any excuse to have a go at an alliance and something as small as a tech raid can make that happen.

It is possible to tech raid if you are in BAPS, you just have to get the right permissions for your raid. :) Besides, small skirmishes are nowhere near as much fun as the global warfare that breaks out every so often :D

We have now passed 1 Million nation strength again and have some powerful allies in the game. We have also been promoted to the Poseidon group of alliances and are now the Flag Alliance of Pegasus.

    Go BAPS!

If anyone would like to join BAPS, just create a cybernations nation and apply to join us at http://www.cnalliance.com :)

As a result of the major conflicts we've been involved in we've learned that ignoring world politics in cybernations is perilous to alliance health.

We've also become extremely streamlined and efficient and our war machine has become respected. We achieved 1M NS despite only having 44 nations, last time we had 120+ nations and only managed to break 1M NS at that stage :)

The thing about BAPS that always scared me was how after only 6 months of existence we managed to find ourselves in the heart of a World War. Months after that there were alliances out to destroy all BAPS nations fr another incident. It all just seemed a little Dirty Harry to me. Shoot first and ask questions later :)

I'm in RnR now. Nice and comfortable with a NS of 38k+ and make 6M per day after taxes. I'm sure that whenever I get the taste for blood again I'll see what war you guys are planning next :p

I found the game more exciting when I had 20K to spend each day rather than 2M :)

Hey, i play CN and i am in the IRON Alliance.
Just thought id say hello to yous.

I have one question though, have any of yous ever bought a donation for CN before? If so did you use a credit card? Are you a AIB customer?

If anyone one here has bought a donation please let me know and explain what payment method you used?

The reason I am asking is because I'd like to make a donation but as a third level student i don't want to get a credit card unless necessary.

I have a maestro/laser card but have been led to believe cant they dont work on non-irish sites.

Actually thats more than one question. haha :)
