drop the raptor. there are 500gb drives that read/write nearly as fast. if not faster in some area's.
also they cost a lot less and give you a lot more space.

How much are these 500gb hard drives? Bare in mind I have a 250gb usb hard drive which I use for most misc file storage, the 10k rpm raptor I got just for local stuff etc. I'm thinking I might get a solid state for the OS and some games when they drop in price.

solid state would be better, but a lot more expensive.

the 500gb, 750, 1tb drives vary from around 120 dollars up to 300 dollars.

Drop the 780i too. They are a heap of steaming aids infested ****... Nvidia rushed the board, and almost everyone ive seen breaks in no time. Mine included. Get a x38 or x48. Deffo drop the raptor, they are far to noisy and are actually slower then the 500gb drives avail atm. The t166 500gb samsumg spinpoints are awesome.

Look man, your spending the money in the wrong places..

    Any reason for the stacker?

Have you tried that keyboard? I don't find ergonomic keyboards a good thing for gaming.. in fact terrible.

How about a nice Saitek Eclipse II and a logitech G9 or G5 2007?

Instead of the speakers get a Logitech 5.1 G51 or z-5500

Instead of the graphics card get a 8800GT

See if you can pick up a x-fi xtreme music bulk instead of the gamer. Its cheaper and better!! :D:D

One Samsung Spinpoint 500gb would tear your raptor and 250gb and it only costs €70

    Whats your total budget?

I really should have posted this before I bought all this stuff. Bah. I might pick up a new hard drive down the line anyway, as for the graph card I probably should of done more research. I have heard the radeon models work better these days but the reviews for the one I bought were very good so I figured I couldnt go wrong. Bah.

Budget is not important, its a company(I own the company) expense so its all coming out as a tax deduction.

you can send some of the items back that you want to change and you get credit for the amount of them.

you pay for postage, but to be honest, its worth it compared to the hassle you will have if something like the 780i breaks and you need to send it off for repair.

at least think about sending some of it back and changing for something mor stable.

Just to update, the parts arrived and after some trouble with the graphics card(which wouldnt work until I took out the cmos chip) it is now up and running. Its amazingly fast and the display is fantastic. That said the hard drive is noisy as f*ck like you guys mentioned. I'll probably hold off on the exchange, if I switch the motherboard now I have to go through the pain of reinstallation and the annoyance of refitting all those parts. In the long term I plan to get a solid state for the OS.

    Cheers lads!
