Sim free, unlocked Motorola F3 in Black €34 delivered at Pixmania. This is a basic phone but ready to take any SIM card, and almost all the networks are offering free or very cheap SIMs now. Perfect emergency phone.

they also have them in red aswell.. do you know if i order two would they come as one delivery in one parcel or would it be shiped seperatly ?

Sorry I don't know about that Spongbob, I've never ordered more than 2 products from Pixmania. I think you'll stilll only pay one delivery charge of €12.90, so I'm guessing they're probably sent together. The red Motorola F3 is €4 extra.

    Oracle,

Looking at this for the parents, if ordered via piximainia, will the charger be a continental European plug or our 3 pin plug?

    Thanks

    W.

I bought a Logitech remote from Pixmania last year and they included an adaptor for the charger

Tesco Mobile have a few phones on offer for €39.99, with free €10 top-up, so effectively €29.99, with free delivery, that's cheaper than Pixmania. Although the phone would be locked to Tesco Mobile.

The only snag I can see with Tesco Mobile is their minimum charge of 20c per call, that eats your call credit, especially when almost everyone has voicemail now. On the other hand if your parents won't use the phone much, for example only for emergencies, it's perfect. As far as I know, Tesco don't have any minimum top-up requirement to stay connected.

Your point is null and void. You can get cheap phones locked to o2, so what? The phone in Pixmania is not locked to any network.

Yes you're right, cheap phones are available on other networks, but not flat rate anytime cross-network calls at 20c per min. On prepaid, they're only available on Meteor and Tesco Mobile, and right now Meteor don't have any phones under €59. So that leaves Tesco Mobile as having the cheapest phone and the best value service all round.

They had these in Lidl about 4-5 months back for 10 or 12 euro or something. Picked one up at the time, but to be honest I've never even switched it on.

At least I know it's there in an emergency.

Will it work on O2? See my post about another phone here.

I don't know if this phone comes with a UK or European plug on the charger. This phone is unlocked so you should be able to use it on any network, including any network when roaming, just stick in the foreign operators SIM card.

Although I think there's better value to be on Tesco Mobile now. For example, the Motorola W220 phone for €40, you get €38 free call credit (not top-up dependent, just send in an old SIM), a free €10 top-up, 70 Clubcard points (worth 70c) and free delivery.

    As he said?

I'm posting a cheap alternative to the Pixmania phone, that I've stated is locked. I'm sure those reading this thread can decide what phone they want, locked or unlocked. It's not up to you TM or the_syco to declare posts null or void.

I notice Pixmania are debiting on day of shipping now.

The reason I don't deal with them anymore is because they debited my card THEN decided to ask me extremely personal items like a scan of a utility bill and passport.

This has happened to a lot of people on boards so it seems they've responded to the high level of outrage over this procedure.

My point was that any phone that is cheap, is usually cheap as it's locked to a network: they make their money by getting it off you when you call people. As opposed to your original post, where you stated a cheap sim-free phone. In most cases, a sim-free phone would cost at least €50, but sometimes upto and beyond €400 more than the phone locked to a network, and that's why I said the post about Tesco's is null and void: if the phone was not locked to Tesco's, it'd be a lot dearer.
