If you notice any problems, post them in this thread if you would!

Makes it a lot easier to track problems, etc.

seen it for the first time today... how long has it been there, or was it for only certain users!

Is this a vbulletin plugin, or something specifically developed by Boards.ie? It's nice :)

Aw, it means we can't neg rep!

I remember they used to have a reputation system here. It didn't really work unfortunately. It was more based on who you like rather than the quality of posts. Also I think the ability to neg rep can cause a bit of bullying...

It would :( best not have it!

It makes the thread look ridiculous, imo.

I don't care who told thanks to other people ffs.

It does look a bit weird alright, but maybe we just need to get used to it?

It's a vbulletin plugin, I fiddled around with it a bit to make it look nicer, but that's all :)
It would :( best not have it!

Yeah, that's kinda the logic behind it, it's only positive. If people abuse it we can disable their ability to use the feature anyway ;)

Yeah I fully agree. It's stupid and unnecessary.

Can you disable my ability to use or to have it show up on threads I view?

i've seen this on a forum for helping solve computer problems, basically if someone posted a reply that solved your problem, you then thanked them. It was a good indication of who knew their stuff.
It worked there, but cant see a need for it in most of boards.ie, especially with the amount of traffic here.

Maybe A Rep system would work well for boards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

I can't really see the benefit of it. Everyone just thanking everyone for the sake of it.

  • Subscribers Posts: 9,716 ✭✭✭CuLT

Not going to keep an eye on two threads about this, so if you have a suggestion put in the the Feedback thread I linked to. Cheers.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,239 ✭✭✭✭WindSock

I also agree with the unnecessariness. I don't care who thanked whom, how many times.

    /Edit...off to feedback so :)

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 25,872 Mod ✭✭✭✭Doctor DooM

I work for a company which runs a forum in which us tecnical consultants can post. Thanks given from customers for our replies work towards our key performance indicators.

    Boards is becoming work! :)

Yay, it's rep only it's not.

Hey OP, you thank me and I'll thank you, k?

lol I can see a request for a "Thanks" forum and a double in the rate of traffic to Feedback due to this.
All we need now is a colourful, graphical representation of thanks stats acquired and the circle will be complete...

    *snaps fingers in CuLT's direction*

    Thanks should be reserved for:
    1) Pictures that give me arousal.
    2) Somebody that fixes my PC.
    3) Desf.

They took it off you for starting your thanks thread. If you aren't going to play properly you shan't be allowed to play at all

Thats a bit harsh. It's a mod conspiracy. Or an inter mod conspiracy

maybe having a "thanks" in a locked thread has stuffed it for you?
