My physio recommended glucosamine for joint problems. He told me that road running can wear away the cartilage in your knees because of the repetitive impact and cartilage doesn't renew itself so the glucosamine helps this. I may stand corrected on that by some more knowledgeable posters but I think thats the basic jist of it.

Take the one with chonroditn (sp?). Boots is the best place to buy it as they do a 3 for 2 offer and they are quite expensive compared to other supplements. I've been taking them since Sept and I've been fine. I used to always get pains in my knees from running before and would have to stop just as I was making progress.

Also increase your intake of Omega 3 and 6 - nuts, linseeds, oily fish all help.

Very good advice. I was in a similar situation myself- knee pains after running on the road. a cocktail of cod liver oil and glucosamine each day has sorted me out. It wouldn't hurt to get your gait analysed either.
