    Hi all,
Im a 30 year old guy, fairly healthy but its time to face facts. My hair is thinning on top.
    So.. im going into town today so should I buy;
    a) Regain. (chemical stuff/snake oil??)
    b) Head shears/shavers and be done with it.
    c) Some self esteem.

Any views from the ladies on shaved heads?

Mach 3 is your friend. Go to a barbers and get the lowest cut available by trimmer. Go home and lather head in shaving foam. Now shave your head WITH the grain. I do it in the following manner.... Firstly like I am giving myself a middle parting? Middle to sides on top. Then go from side to back as far around as possible. Followed by doing the back of my head from the top down to the neck.

Re lalther head with foam and you can now go against the grain. Do the top going from front to back. The back from your neck up wards etc.

It is actually very easy to do and if you do it every say three days it take about 10 mins when you get into the swing of it. You never have to worry about patches etc as you can feel your head and they are easily spotted.

I have no idea how people use those trimmers on themselves. I assume they get help or something! :p

You could give the regain a try and if it's not working shave it. But a shaved head doesn't suit everyone. Have you ever shaved it before?

    Sherifu,

    thanks Hennessy,
Maybe I should get it done shorter and shorter over a few months though. That might lessen the "just convicted" look..

Forger about the bloody regain, just shave your head. My ex was bold, well most of the head was anyway. I had no problem with it, loved him very much. Would have had a problem if I saw him combing the hair over or desperately trying to get the hair back by using regain. Its not about the hair at the end of the day its about you and your personality

i'm 30, losing my hair, but happens to many many men my age, just get an aul number 1 or 2 or do, or as the everyone says, shave the head, there'll be a cure within 10 years, my brother uses regain and he has a fine head of hair though better than mine defo, but you'll be as bald as a coot in a little while like us all, i'd say option C is your answer.

Just shave it mate, it will look grand. I don't ever notice receeding hairlines/bald/completely shaved hair. It's so common really, it's not even a big deal. I can see why you'd feel a bit bad about it, but just bite the bullet tbh. It'll take a bit to get used to and then it'll be the norm!

Get a tight buzz-cut, a number 1 or 2. It actually looks nicer than a lot of men's hairstyles. And wear it with pride - self-confidence is more attractive than hair ;)

Nicholas Cage appears to be losing his hair but this doesn't affect his attraction and Sean Connery has lit the fires of generations of women and is probably the sexiest bald man alive

Ive been going bald since i was 20(4 years ago) and started shaving it with a 2 for a while, then gradually down to a 1 and then a 0. It now gets Mach 3'd once a month. Girlfriend likes it, thats all that matters.

shave it. snake oil doesnt work. the only thing that does work
are incredibly painful to get in hair plugs.

join a gym and get muscly and fitter if you arent already.
    that builds confidence.

a good body is far more attractive to the ladies than
a head of hair, and you will look lean and mean with the
    bald head.

some of the most confident men i know are bald.

they accept and like themselves and attract the ladies
because of that, their attitude is - i like me, you should too.
their confidence doesnt vary with knock backs, and they just
    laugh at getting slagged.

work on that rather than cosmetic changes. as if you did get
with someone you would always worry - would they like me
    if i was bald.

Mate I went bald at the age of 16. I was losing it on top and didn't want to clutch to straws so I just shaved it off. It's not a big deal.
