Krakow for the city break and Zakopane for the skiing. It's 2 hours from Krakow.

BUT! check the weather and make sure there's snow. There was when I was there in January but there may not be now.

Poland is cheap for everything including skiing if compared to other European resorts.

Krakow is lovely. Great clubs. Visit the Salt Mines. They're amazing.

I'd still recommend Krakow even if there's no snow in Zakopane. Lovely city.
