Are there ticket machines at Ashtown?

I originally was thinking of fetching the train from Broombridge to get to the southside this weekend but have read up that there is not a single ticket machine/office there due to vandalism problems so i'm not risking a €50 fine by boarding there.(despite the IE website displaying a cash fare from there that you simply cannot buy at the place!)

Next nearest is Ashtown and it's manned on weekdays according to IE. It's been 5yrs since i boarded at Ashtown regularly and i remember there were no ticket machines there at the time(only a cashier behind the counter).
It tells me nothing here (http://www.iarnrodeireann.ie/your_journey/your_station.asp?letter=a&action=showdetail&station_id=4 )

Question is, is there an automated ticket machine working at Ashtown no matter what time one boards the train at?

There is no problem boarding at Broombridge without a ticket, its totally legal you just pay at the other end, done it many times never any hassle. The rules are pay on train or at destination if the station is closed

Ashtown is staffed and has a ticket vending machine I think, but it costs more from Ashtown mental queue in the morning

They won't fine you if you get on at Broombridge. You can only be fined if there was a possibility to get a ticket and you didn't.
