Dear God.. am just after watching 'My Left Foot' which I bought in a small record store in Sligo where it was doing a clearout at Christmas. Got it for €4 so not bad by any means.

Anyways, the transfer was absolutely horrific.. possibly worst than I can remember from VHS. Bad form for a film which was a winner of 2 Oscars but maybe it was just an old copy of the film.

Do you own any films which suffer from a poor transfer, and deserve a remastered release? Somewhat distracting from the film though.

    ..

Heh, just after looking on Play.com and looks like someone has had the same thought - seems Play have a new edition available for pre-order. I assume it'll be better quality as the one I purchased (no indication on it as to when the DVD was issued).

Watya call a spastic in an oven?
    Crispy Brown.

Anyway I bought a copy of Boogie Nights on DVD that didn't really cut the mustard.

There's a version of The Commitments around which was transferred in 4:3 with no 5.1 soundtrack. But there's also a two disc special edition which seems to be ok.

The full screen version of the Crow must be one of the worst DVD transfers ever. They cropped it so horribly.
My copy of the Land Before Time is also poorly cropped too (and it wasnt cheap either!)

A couple of my Region 3 DVD's have terribly poor transfers - remember a cheap R3 copy of 'Slither' from CDWOW looked very hazy and almost-knockoff-like!
