There's nothing on the Corporations website, a text to Ocean FM might be in order.

Today weather is beautiful so I'm going to parade and later to work:(

It was FREEZING! Lots of effort put in on some of the floats. Gilroy Tiles one was a good laugh! And fair play to Abbot too.

I thought it was a really good parade.
I was surprised at how many shops were closed though.

Haven't been to a parade in years. I like some of the bands, but the inanity of the rest is too much for that time of the morning. And the whole day is a bit take it or leave it for most people I know too. The young ones seem to make a big deal and get super hammered for it, but I never enjoyed it as a drinking day. It's great drinking all day with your friends, but when everyone is at it, it all gets a bit messy and depressing. Driving around town on Monday night it seemed to be 17-22 year olds staggering around and puking in doorways and stragely many of them in fancy dress, like they were at a match or something. Two girls were covered in dark green body paint. It was nasty looking.

Driving round town at night, checking out young girls? You can get into trouble for that!

I work in town. At night. Trust me, if you saw them you'd feel sorry for me.

I can only imagine! I do my utmost to avoid Paddys Day celebrations... it's generally a very messy day. When you see bouncers on door of the likes of The Clarence before mid-day, it's not usually a good sign!
