Ok so while pottering abotu my work each day, I jack myself into youtube and listen to my playlist. Now I work in a cube farm when i'm in my companys office but there is usually not anyone within 10 feet of me so I usually sing along quietly. But today there's a guy sitting across from me and i'm still singing and he keeps throwing me dirty looks!

    Who else sings?

I do all the time, singin along with the radio gets me throught the day. Have to be careful bout who's on the phone though. There's 3 of us in the office, it usually ends up with the lyrics being changed to horrible things happening to the bosses! :D

    You are wrong.

I'm a singer myself, but trying to control it. Read somewhere that singing made it to the list of 10 most annoying work habits. I have to say I agree with it.

it bugs me when people hum tho

Whistling bothers me moreso.... I don't know why.. but if I hear someone wandering the corridor whistling randomly its like nails on a blackboard.

Singing I don't mind too much

Slightly off topic so I may be forgiven!

Ever hum the first few bars of a song beside someone and hear them singing the song for the rest of the day? Evil...

Only last week, my 5-year-old daughter's teacher approached me about her very annoying habit of bursting into song in the middle of lessons!:o

I'd probably murder the person if i had to work with someone that sings.

We all sing in the office - perhaps not at the same time but if we like a song on the radio. Though there is that one person who manages to put an annoying song in my head all day.

We play at it in my office.

Come in, hum whistle or sing (to yourself) the cheesiest chune you can think of and then wait for someone else to start up.

A day with Westlifes "I'm flying without wings" floating about your head is enough to drive a person insane.

We have a singer in the office and it is very very annoying. Not that bad if you aren't actually doing any work it actually becomes comical some times, but when you are trying to figure something you just want to stangle somebody.

    I jack myself

Did anyone else interpret this as jack off, or am I just ****ed?

What about phantom drummers, who think because they tap on their desk with two pens they're Phil Collins (and I bet he's, for most of them, their favourite drummer)?

I hum a few bars of a tune but nothing more. It is the whistlers that annoy me. :p

We have a combined drummer / hummer.

    If looks could kill.

I think its pretty selfish thing to do in the office to be honest. Its very hard to concentrate when someone is humming or singing...

Even worse though is when someone is listening to music at a high volume and they have crappy earphones. Everyone can hear their crap taste in music... Same on buses etc.

I get earphones that keep the sound in, so only I can hear my crap music :D

It drives me insane when people sing in the office, especially people who can't sing or when they start singing when you're trying to have a conversation. Thank **** for Shure in ear monitors blocking out everything </shill>

Singing can be irritating when the person hasn't got a note in their head. Whistling is just annoying, full stop. But the thing that gets me the most is......people drumming their fingers on a desk! (or table, whatever) I actually have to leave the room

Last week any time I set the students work in school last week I was singing under my breath. I had to stop myself singing out loud! I had a song stuck in my head...'no need to run, and hide, its a wonderful wonderful life!'

What? Who the hell goes around humming the theme tune to The Bill?

I'm trying to hum the Coronation Street theme and I can't do it without bursting out laughing. That's ridiculous.

    Kind of the same thing.

A few years ago I worked in a newsagent in a fairly busy Dublin shopping centre. The layout of the shop was strange, the checkout was facing into the shop so to get into it you had to walk past the checkout. There was a cd player at the desk which came in handy.

Anyway, there was noone in the shop so I turned up the cd player, started singing along and began practicing some sweet air guitar moves. I was in my own world untill the song ended. Still no one in the shop, I turned around and out in the corridor a group of 5 or 6 people had stopped to laugh at me.

    Christ that was embarrassing :D

im forever randomly singing....often random musicals.been murdering joseph recently.generally get told to shut up but only do it when teachers tell me to.

I was always singing "which side are you on" by FLorence Reece.
    The bosses hated it.

I also loved irish folk songs and some african chant songs which made the managaers despise me as they thoguht there was something unhinged and eiree about me singing seeming nonsense to myself at midnight while stacking shelves alone.

It made the management think I was unhinged or a satanist or something.

workin in a seriously loud factory, ye can roar singin and feck all people can hear ye anyway, everyone there roars and sings/shouts, we all wear ear-protectors. one particular welder does donkey impressions all day long at the top of his voice, ye can see the veins sticking out of his throat hes goin at it that hard.! it gets rid of some of the frustration! quite funny sometimes seeing mouths move and knowing people are roaring but not hearing anything!
