I have a Sky box and dish which i pick up what i call "freeview" (if thats what it should be called) i get all the BBC's, ITV's Sky News ect.
The sky box has a slot for a card (im guessing for subscription channels)
My question is.....is there a card i can buy that will give me more channels (eg channel 4, channel 5 ect) that isnt subscription based???
I do not want to sign up to Sky for any package thingy!!
    Cheers.

It's not freeview, that's the terrestrial system. It's FTA, Free To Air.

There is a card about £22, from sky, once off payment. Sky/NDS own it. You only buy a right to use it on a once off charge. It is only sent to UK/NI postcoded addresses.

It is identical to a subscription card. C4 is likely to be FTA this year, so you would be paying for "Five", "Five Live", "Five US" and possibly "Sky 3". At the minute it also does C4 too.

Buying the card from 3rd party may be illegal as Sky own it. But a 3rd party obtaining it on your behalf, and then you removing it from UK is not illegal.

It is quite legal to use outside of UK, but it is against Sky's own contracts with content providers to knowingly supply it outside of UK.

This system is called FTV (Free To View), Sky rebranded it the confusing "Freesat from Sky" :)

Because they belong to Sky and may not be sold. You can get someone to get one on your behalf. :)
