For €660 its not a great spec, you'd get better value with a dell here in Ireland or dare I say it laptopsdirect.ie have some brilliantly priced offerings. I wouldn't take that HP you listed.

Edit: I noticed the machines a touchscreen tablet, now its IS worth the value of €660 as tablet laptops are inherintly (sp?) expensive. I recently bought an IBM X41 tablet laptop off ebay for €600 so the one you list aint so bad after all!

The specs are abonimable. You'll have serious pains doing anything with vista on that.

If you could upgrade the ram to 2GBs then it would be pretty good for vista. A 12" touchscreen for €600 is pretty good though.

I disagree with the CPU: 512kb cache is a joke: you should be looking at cores with 2mb or 4mb caches - it has serious performance implications. Im betting its one of those chips that was included in the microsoft/intel scandal.

With a different processor and 2gb ram I'd buy it. But not as is.

Youre better off buying from HP direct and not their malaysian outlet tbh and even then Ive come to dislike their customer care.

Amd processors generally don't have high amounts of cache. The athlon 64 range of processors only had 512KBs of cache but they still wiped the floor with the pentium 4's which had more cache and had higher clock speeds. My sister's laptop has a turion x2 tl-60 in it (2Ghz. 1MB cache I think) and it is absolute overkill for what she needs and runs vista like a dream.

Sarge, what games do you plan to play on it?
