i remember reading years ago about some incidents in america where large "birds" were sighted and even a story that one tried to take a small boy (although that makes no sense since a pterodactyl to my knowledge caught fish).
i was reminded of these stories (while playing monster hunter lol:o)
and it makes sense that if they somehow aren't extinct, could be the source of wyvern myths

There were storys were an eagle tried to pick up a boy. And other storys were people have seen a large birt fly. The bad thing is an untrained eye has no way of predicting the size of a bird flying as it has nothing to compare it to up there.

There were alot of sightings of pterodactyls and photos have been taken. And yes they look like pterodactyls, but they are actually frigate birds.

I did hear of a case about 2 years ago were a pilot and the passangers did see a large bird fly beneath them. But i didnt hear anything since.

You can look at the storys of the Jersey Devil and tie that in there also but there hasnt been anything valid on that cryptid in years.


Also google the thunder bird and you will find more storys there. There is the famous story of confederate soldiers shooting one and a photo has been taken. This is actually fake.

Wow a thread on cryptids, wouldn't this look better in a fortean forum:D.
