    Hi,

Im going to Ayia Napa for a week from the 31st May - 7th June and was looking for some info from someone that has been there before.

I have searched on the net for info on good clubs, beaches, events etc but there is nothing on there, all of the sites have not been updated in a yr or two...Can someone help??? I have a few questions....

1: Is Cyprus now in Euro?
2: Can you recommend some good clubs with good dance music? What is the average cost into a club?
3: Can you recommend any good daytime activities?
4: Is it as expensive over there as people have been making out?

Any other info you have would be great as id like to go over having some idea what to expect....

    Thanks a million :)

Don't bother. The place is full of off duty Britishh squaddies from the nearby bases at Dhekalia and Ayios Nikolias.

Yes Cyprus is now in Euro. I havent been there for about 4 years but when I was there we stayed in a fabulous hotel in Ayia Napa called Adams Beach which overlooked Nissi Bay-just gorgeous.

I think most pubs and clubs are free in and all located in the one area from what I remember. Yup I do remember it being expensive when I was there but things should be more transperant now with the changeover to Euro.

The big clubs like Castle & Starskys expect you to pay in as far as I can remember. There's always promos on though & people out trying to get you to come in.

Would have loved to have gone to Castle but it didn't open til 2 or 3 or something when I was there, my friend and I had gone over straight after our exams and just wanted to relax so we didn't go out very much at all. Soaked up the great sun during the day!

You gotta head to Senior Frogs for the craic, the staff are crazy!! The people there seem to be too! You have to go just to have a yard cocktail!!You get to keep the glass he he..even though it's plastic.

With food, try go to proper restaurants, we made the mistake a few times of going to such a place because the man outside was really nice & offered us free dessert & shots or something & the food was crap!

Ah it's a good old place, not bad. Loads to do down by the beaches, plenty of water sports and boat trips. If you're into it, go on one of the boat trips & learn about the history of the island, it is quite sad to hear about the stories of when the turks invaded etc. Maybe it's not your thing, i'm 21 and it was actually my 2nd time there and still enjoyed it the 2nd time round.

As for value for money, it's not hugely expensive, drinks etc seem to be cheaper but more than likely watered down. I'd suggest buying drink in the supermarkets/shops and drinking before you go out definitely.

    Where are you staying btw?

    Where are you staying?

Senior frogs is legend - get a few yards into you then head up to Starskys or the castle.

Then after the castle closes go down to the beach and do a bungy jump. The sleep most of the day!

It is dam expensive, especially cos nearly ebvery country you go to is always cheaper than Ireland but tis a great laugh

I'm going tomorrow night - don't get there til the 31st - probably on the same sort of package!?

Intrested to hear if anyones been since the Euro changeover, like the others, people have been freaking me out re: the price of everything!!

I was there 2 yrs ago and it was expensive but it depends on if your stupid with your money or not we bought our drink in the local supermarket and had a few at our apartment before we went out and we saved alot that way. The clubs are all in the same area but on the last day we saw a club called insomnia that opens at 2 and we were gutted that we missed it!! Most of the clubs close early but there is one bar cant remember the name that has a pool that stays open all night... dont swim in there.... floating condoms etc

Food wasn't great but its not great in any sun hol destination! And head to the beach during the day there is loads of water activities to keep ye going :)

And its not full of english either most people were from Dublin.

Word of warning make sure your friends dont get you in to the tattoo place when your drunk!! I saw alot of people with stupid tattoos after a night or day of drink!

Cheers Hayden.....Its just the two of us, so it won't be too mad!! Apart from the whole floating condoms bit :(, it sounds like most other package destinations...getting me all excited now!!

Oh im so jealous!! was there two years ago and actually just got my photos developed last week!

Castle is great, starskys and carwarsh were good too. Dont expect to go out before 12, and buy a fan when you get there if there isnt one in your room, its gets soooo hot!!

Make sure to find the cliffs out by the hotel... eh, the name escapes me! its not at nissi beach but theyre beautiful and you can jump off so much fun!

We rented mopeds, some of the lads had no licence or anything f*cking crazy stuff!!
Do a bunjee jump if youre brave enough too!!

    Have fun!!
