Is there some directive or information on what is the greenist way to dispose of on site waste?

    Plasterboard, wood, concrete, plastic etc..

Id rather not throw it all into a skip if i can recycle much or most of it.

I don't know if your a domestic ie DIYer or a business but most recycle centres will accept SOME construction waste - eg clean rubble and plasteboard, timber. Don't use county/city council sites, try and use a site run by a private company, they charge less.

You could also try advertising on the freecycle network if you have useful pieces, eg 20/30 concrete blocks, full sheets of plasterboard, full rolls of insulation. A local person may take timber if they havge a solid fuel fire etc

    Hope that helps
