this is really cool. is this gi (bjj) and no-gi (sg) separately on the same day? weights?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 695 ✭✭✭Liam_B

This will be a BJJ Tournament with ibjjf rules and weight brackets applied.

And also a Submission Grappling Tournament on the same day with ADCC rules applied. The Weight category for the Submission grappling Tournament willl be posted soon.:)

The main Goal for this 1st Munster Open Tournament is to give guys as many fights as possible. hence the SG and BJJ on the same day.:D:D

I can't help but notice the singular "weight Bracket" as opposed to "brackets"!!!:D Am I wrong in thinking open weight? If so I'm having a second breakfast now!

The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu weight class is in accordance with ibjjf
    Weight List

The Submission Grappling weight Class is as follows
    -75kg + 75 kg and Absolute
(However if there are larger numbers for the Submission Grappling Registration. The Weight Classes will be more defined.)

    Hi guys,
University of Limerick have basically kicked us out in favour of a basketball tournament on May 11th so now the event will take place the same day in Shannon leisure centre, Shannon, Co Clare. And the event will start at 11:00 now.

Its quite an easy place to find, but if anyone needs directions you can email me- fquinlan75@hotmail.com If ye could pass on the info for anyone planning to come I would be thankful.

Also in regard to the no gi rules We have decided to make them the same as cbjj/gi rules however all leglocks will be legal with the exception of a heel hook.

Closing date for entries is 9th of May . If anybody has any questions let me know. Thanks-Fergal

    Hi Folks,

Just to clarify any questions regarding Weigh ins

Please note the Rules regarding Weigh ins

Each competitor will be Weighed in when they are called to the mat. You will be given only one opportunity to weigh in before your match. If the competitor does not make the weigh he/she will be disqualified.

    Ibjjf rules
