As per title, what is the strangest story you have ever heard in regard to a famous poker pro. Ill start it off, still cant get over this story:

    Scotty Nguyen

Scotty told this strory on a episode of poker after dark

When he was 14, himself and his brother got on a small boat with 17 other people and set out from Vietnam to Taiwan. They figured it would only take 2 days to get there so they only packed enough food and water for that time. Unfortunately they took a wrong turn and ended up getting lost at sea. 21 days later and they were still lost. During this time Scottys 12 year old brother had got very sick and was on the brink of death - so considering there hunger, Scotty along with the rest of the boat decided to EAT his brother the next day. Luckily they were picked up the next day and Scotty brother recovered.

    Eating your own brother:eek:

I suspect poetic licence. They could not survive on that amount of water for 21 days if they only brought enough for 2 days. Maybe I am wrong, but it's easy to exaggerate something that sort of happened.

LuckyLloyd once famously lost a low stakes poker game that resulted with him being on a train to roscommon or some ungodly location with two others, one who was more or less naked on account of the same bet, and the other who had all the first guys clothes.

does that count? i can give you loads for lloyd if we count him as a pro! :)

Stu Ungar was a class poker & blackjack player but went down the odd wrong road. This is out of his biography

" Ungar's drug problem escalated to such a point that during the WSOP main event in 1990, to which close friend and poker pro Billy Baxter had staked him, Ungar was found on the third day of the tournament unconscious on the floor of his hotel room from a drug overdose. However, he had such a chip lead that even when the dealers kept taking his blinds out every time around the table Ungar still finished 9th and pocketed $20,500."

"Ungar, who had a genius level IQ and an eidetic memory[4], was able to keep track of every card in a six-deck blackjack shoe. In 1977 he was bet $100,000 by Bob Stupak, an owner and designer of casinos, that he could not count down the last two cards in a six deck shoe. Ungar won the bet."!

I heard that Nicky power once ate a full packet of Rice Krispies dry, and then drank a pint of water, only to see his stomach increase to twice the size. The stress of it apparently is what made him lose his hair.

He also asked out a transexual in the Rio last summer, but unfortunatly was turned down.

    These may/may not be true/libel

When I first started playing with Doyle, we'd play in out of the way places because some of the well known players didn't want public scrutiny. I would ask Doyle about the poker game, but he would always talk about the food spread at the game. He weighed 400 pounds and he'd say to me, “Look at those pork chops” or “Tell me if you've ever tasted a better sweet potato than those.” He seemed to get much more delight from eating than playing poker.

True, Doyle had his stomach stabled, long time ago.

I think she actually checked herself out of the hospital immediately after the transplant because that Beal chap from Texas had returned to Vegas to play the big game.

    Now that is sick. Literally.
