The magic word was "SEARCH", you should try it some day for yourself. It actually works

Just leave the card in the box overnight and it should re-appear in the next 24 hours.

Little knowledge is a dangerous thing

The fact that this question gets asked almost on a weekly basis now in this forum proves that people dont bother using the search facility on here. By just typing "five missing from my ftv card" into google, throws up boards.ie as the very first find

He was not being smart, the forum is here to help people but you need to help yourself too. The forum is full of threads asking the same questions over and over by people who do not bother to search first, this is annoying and frustrating for regular contributors who do like to help.

the search facility on boards has been up and down like a yoyo over the years.

DigiDec's useful reply took no longer to type than Aquos' sarky one - its no wonder Boards has a reputation for being full of pompous assholes.

I agree the search facility has been a problem but insulting people who post here is not exactly helpful now is it? I'm guessing the replies are born out of annoyance and frustation at seeing the same questions over and over.

While I am on the issue, I have some questions:
What fta english channels are there?
Can I paint a sky dish?
    What does "no signal" mean
What satellite cable do i use?
    And more and more......................................

Or the classic "My picture has gone, has everyones else's gone too" :)

Ahhhhhhhhh, so thats why so many people come here asking new interesting questions, people just love pompous assholes!

Perhaps those who don't like the pompous assholes should look elsewhere. It will make everyone happy.

To be fair, I think it was the tone of the reply which came accross as a bit smart arsed. The guy seemed to have a legitimate concern over channel 5. A simple 'why not search for yourself' or even just ignore the post if they felt that strongly.
The time it took to post the smart comment he could have told the guy.

True but as I wrote earlier the comments were most likely coming from annoyance/frustration after a series of this type of post.

I apologise if I came across as been a smart arse, but as has previously been mentioned, there are numerous threads appearing here on a daily basis regarding topics which have been discussed to death, The fact that this is probably the most common fault regarding FTV cards that occurs, I was a bit pissed off to see yet another thread on the topic.

If I was looking for info regarding a particular topic, I would normally ask google first and failing that I would venture on to forums like this one and try my luck there. However it was obvious that the OP decided just to post here without trying to find the answer for himself.

Hmm, seems most of this thread has little to do with the topic, even if has been done to death.
