Just heard a story from my flatmate who says that in the west that serves all there guinness as a tree pour pint, not a two pour as usual. Aparently it settles the guinness much more evenly and you dont have to drink it as fast aswell.

Gonna try it the next time im behind a bar.

Anyone tried or even heard of this before?

No, but I remember being served draft beer in Germany that must have been a 10 pour pint.

I was a pint of pils and the barman filed the glass one inch at a time. It took forever.

I have seen it plenty of times, all over the country, never noticed any difference. Most of the time it is a barman getting the 2 part pour wrong. I have seen some leave it until the end, but again often I presume they have messed up the 2 part and leave it to be 3.

the two part pour has been discussed at great length on this thread
i have never heard of a 3 part pour Guinness, christ a man would have some thirst worked up by the time that was served!!

I may be mistaken, but I think it used to be served as a seven part pour.

I've been served a three part pint before, and it wasn't a mistake. I think you'll see old school bar men doing it more so. It did taste a bit better but then I'd say most places you find proper old school bar men, the Guinness is probably going to be good. They wouldn't work in the place if it wasn't! :)

When Guinness draught was first introduced, the 3 part pour was recommended.

This evolved into the 2 part pour due to the extra time taken.
