    I am looking to see if anyone knows someone who specialises in Bronze Casting. My OH is trying to have a present made for a retirement party for a plumber. He wants to get a special plumbing tool (wrench or something), coated in bronze and mounted on a plaque of some sorts.

    Anyone any ideas where he could get this done?

    What area are you in? I know a guy who does bronze casts here in the west if that would suit you....

    The casting process could be very expensive, you could metal spray an existing wrench. I think they can virtually spray any metal, bronze, brass, copper, aluminium etc. thr link I have is for an english company but I'm sure that they have a agent in Ireland.http://metall-fx.com/

    Alternatively you could powder coat a wrench.

    If you are in the Dublin area there is a galvanising place on the Ballymount Road (sorry - can't remember the name) that does electro plating and zinc galvanising, and they could plate a steel wrench with metal to make what you want.

    Alternatively GreenHobby & Model in Harolds Cross sell the stuff for making casting moulds and casting resins. If you didn't want to do it yourself a call there would get the name of one of their professional modellers who could cast a lightweight duplicate from resin, which could then be finished off in any colour.

    A jewellery manufacturer would also be able to plate a real one with silver or similar if that was interesting.

    i am a bronze artist working in belfast . i could easily help. i use the process of sand casting to produce my bronze pieces.it would be easy and quick for me to make a plumbing tool if you would like to forward me some more details could let you now a price and time scale.
