Been looking at buying one of these as I think they'll be a bet long term buy instead of a metal shed.
    http://www.tiglinsheds.com/frontend/images/fullsize/concgarage/brown2.jpg

There are 2 suppliers I've found, Kellys and Tiglin.

Question is has anyone bought one of these sheds and from whom (ok 2 questions there;))

    Opinions appreciated in advance

    David

Mine is 22 x 16, built with cavity blocks, same roof profile,
8ft garage doors, side window and door and fully plastered outside.
    all in €3000.

not sure how to upload photo to show you, but its the bizz.

Did you need any planning on it? €3000 sounds very reasonable. Who did yours?

Didnt get planning, its at the back of my house and cant be seen,
I dont have any close neighbours.

I did most of it myself, I got the foundation ready and poured the floor and foundation all in one go. €300.
i got 2 Polish lads for the block work, took them 2 days. €700.
I bought the profile roofing from Norden Profiles in Co clare, You measure the roof and they cut it to size and send you all the bits to go with it, arrived very well packed, €900.
Timber beams to run the length of the garage I got from a local saw mill €120.
After i got the roof on 2 guys from wexford plastered the outside and did a brilliant job €500.
Buy & sell 2 Teak garage doors 8ft high €250.
Buy & sell 5ft Teak window and side door €150.

i was able to reuse other stuff i had like gutters & downpipe
and door locks and anything i can find.

i will try to get a photo up here for you to see.

It didnt all happen in one weekend it took me a couple of months
but i like to get stuck in and see how much i can do myself,

that dosen't suit some people though.

would love to hear what you decide to do.

Pajo, I'd like to see some interior pics of the roof/timber detail.
I'm looking at getting a garden shed. I wanted a block built shed, but I was getting quotes of 5-6000 euro for a 18 x 10 finished shed. To expensive for me at the moment.

From looking around I can get the slab foundation poured and walls built for approx 1300, so if I can do the rest for 1500 or so it would suit my budget.
So some pics of the roof detail would be really helpful.

    thanks!

Hoping to put up a garage soon, around the same size so pics would be great Pajo.
Cmar - let us know how you are getting on with the garage if/when you get started.

    Cheers

We actually purchased a garage from Tiglin last year (during the summer), a different colour to the one youve listed, but basically looks to be the same thing. We've dealt with Tiglin before at our last house, we got a garden shed and a playhouse from them. They're a very good company to deal with, very helpful and reliable when it comes to delivery - they actually arrived when they said they were going to (which was a nice change, considering the crowd of **** who did our driveway were six weeks late!). The crew of lads that were here were very good, they got the job done quickly and didnt leave a huge mess behind them.

I'd have no problems recommending Tiglin to you or to anyone that is interested in a garden shed or garage. You wont get better for the money.

Interesting... I was planning to build a wood-framed garage using this guide:

    http://www.instructables.com/id/SL1K41XF9T3ZZWW/

Haven't worked out the costs yet.

    franksm,

Yeah, that looks interesting. I considered doing a self build, but in the end I went with a prefab because it was far, far less hassle. Its not as much of a bargain, doing the DIY route, not when you take in the amount of time and effort, phone calls to price and order materials, time to get and compare quotes from plasterers etc etc, not to mention the hours and days of work during what is supposed to be your free time :P Pre-fab buildings like Tiglin's go up in less than a week, start to finish, where can you go wrong?

Instead of doing a DIY build, I'm thinking of one of these pre-fab concrete sheds.
I hope to get a 16x10. Apart from Tiglin, who else should I consider?

    Thanks

When I was shopping around, I found three companies doing those type of buildings, Kellys, Instaspace and Tiglin. From what I saw in their display area and on their website, Kellys building didnt seem to be of standard, especially when compared with the other two. Tiglin and Instaspace had very similar products in terms of quality and the range of options they had, however, Instaspace were substantially more expensive.

Things may have changed in the 9 months or so since I was looking at these buildings, so you should probably check out your options.

    Hope this was a help.

thinking of getting one of theses sheds myself and looking at tiglin to do the work as they look very impressive. did anyone use them recently if so can they do the electrics also ie can they put sockets, lighting(electricity) and tv points in the shed or is this something i would have to do myself.

Sorry, meant to get back to you before my holidays, but it slipped my mind. Tiglin do offer a first fixing service, running cables and etc for power and lights behind the internal sheeting. This works out to be a much neater option than running cables or conduit after the fact. All you need is an electrician to hook up the mains. Also if, like me, you have someone that can hook up the mains power for you, then having the first fixing taken care of will save you a ball of cash.

thanks for getting back! yeh should be able to get an elec no prob to hook up the mains, do you have any idea of the costs tiglin charge for this service??(the cable and power option). I'm thinkin of gettin a shed from them, will have foundation laid already and power running from house to shed area.

Sorry to pull old thread up. It would serve well to see how these tiglin pre-fab sheds have been in past two extreme winters. Do they get condensation on inside? Have anybody had any issues with metal items rusting such as tools etc in the sheds? Any feedback appreciated. I,d ring and ask Tiglin but i,m sure I,ll just get the sales pitch. Real owners tell it like it is. Have a metal shed atm. Too small. Thanks

    Hi

I hope the mods don't mind me bumping this old thread but I'm wondering how these precast garages have been holding up.

I was looking to build a 25sqm garage but the prices I am being quoted are extortionate .

Now I wondering whether to go precast or buy a wooden shed to tide me over for a few years until I can afford something better

    Thanks

As they are mentioned in this thread, just to advise you that ''Tiglin Garden Products Ltd'' went into liquidation, in oct/nov of 2011.

    Hope this helps someone.

Concrete Block built is better built.;)

Put a tender out for the garage to be built and you will get some good quotes from a good few builders.;):)

Spoke to a few people about the precast concrete garages -- some positive experiences but some leaks and damp too

Has anyone gone with one of these precast concrete sheds from Tiglin or Shedworld? Looking for some feedback.
