    Cluson lamps
Anyone any opinions on Cluson lamps? I need a good all rounder for foxes and rabbits. Im going to be doing a lot of solo lamping so I'll be mounting a lamp on the front of a quad or on a scope. The Cluson lamps seem to be the most versatile with the most attachments. Of particular interest to me was the model Shootalite SL2 package. Anybody any comments?

I have the clubman Cb2 & cannot fault it in any way. mine is not mounted to the scope but it can be. brilliant light from it and lasts for the nights shooting easly. great value for money. got mine for €175.00.

Use the SL2 on .22 Hornet. Good setup although I don't get to use it nearly half enough as I'd want to.

'I just sold my SL2 was a fine lamp but I also own lightforce lamp which I prefer over the SL2 reason the beam on the SL2 won't narrow/tighten up anything as good as the lightforce lamp which i like to use when serching the feilds also the distance seems much better, I’d suggest that you buy the deben battery pack and the lightforce rifle mountable lamp that’s the way I’ve gone mainly because of the fox’n and distance that can be involved you have to know what your shooting at .But ya SL2 is also a great pack nice and light for the rabbits ,there’s always pros and cons but that’s my few.

You're right in regards to range and all that Tackleberry. A bit limited compared to the Lightforce but same goes for Hornet compared to .223.

Well since i've changed i'd a 180yrd fox kill shooting a sako in .243 cal on my own ,i'd never of had a chance of this happening with thw SL2.but i'd add the SL2 is bullet proof and even better if you've the lens cover on it to help mind the glass.
I also shoot rabbits with a daystate and would pefer the SL2 on that as it adds less weight so ?????? I know what your saying ......the pros and cons.........buy both
