Got to say i hate the Late Late.

Pat Kenny is unwatchable regardless of who's being interviewed. There are rare occasions i will watch, but not for Des bishop.

Kenny is absolutely TERRIBLE when attempting light entertainment. Give him a serious subject, and there are few better at tackling it.

He can't do light stuff. Always makes an awkward mess of it.

I cant stand either the Late Late show or Des Bishop.

Is it just me or every week they seem to delve into some morbid depressing discussion on the late late show.. for f*cks sake its friday night and anyone staying in watching tv after a week of hard work want to be entertained, not having to listen to depressing skutter

Plus, he is always too prepared - if there's such a thing?? He seems to have his list of questions, and sticks to it..........RIGIDLY.

He seems to treat it like a "production line". Goes thru his list of questions with his guest, and then it's like "Okay, wheel the next one out".

    Horrible to watch.

    Is he?

He has one gimmick. "Hey everyone, I have an american accent but I did my intercert, now listen as I mention this fact in every one of my jokes"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,082 ✭✭✭lostexpectation

    irish=exams, they didn't mention that.

well the interview a while back was while he was doing it and this interview was to plug the show.

biggingerhead does nothing for the irish language, shes the type that puts you off it.

Must be tough to have one television channel on your television.

Eh no, just giving my opinion, flicked on to see who the guest was, 2 minutes later, gone, pure drivel, changed channel.
The late late show is tripe every week full stop.

You run along now mate and get ready for Turbridy tonight ,

    A holocaust denier and Smokie.

    Mike.

The only original Smokie member is the bass player.

Like my granny's shovel, with three new heads and four new handles, that crowd.

    "Who the feck is Alice?"

Thought I was in for a reprise of Pat's famous playing of "Don't marry her, fuck me" there for one glorious second.

smokie would surely be a canditate for worst band ever and living next door to alice is undoubtably among the worst songs ever

was that a record shouting who the beep is alice

if it was the audience , then im ashamed to be irish

My ma said that there was a bit of a debate with a young professor from UCD..... I study German history and think it mighta been my professor.

Anyone get his name? It's not on the LLS site yet.

Sounds appaling. I'm so glad my TV license money goes to the BBC. I'd get get an aneurism knowing that I'm paying for that abomination.

I think it was UCC, since Irvine was due to speak there this week.

I choose not to watch it as I do not like it. You however seem to watch programmes even when you do not like them. You say you flick over but how can you rate a whoe show on a couple of minutes.

David Irving was not your professor but it was him I glimpsed I think.

Yes, he works to an established formula, but the person being interviewed is also complicant in the whole charade, especially the less eloquent kind where it is painfully obvious Kenny is giving hints to bring up the little piece of natter that they had agreed on prior to the show going on air. Ever notice the way Kenny interjects with a little "Yes "every so often-not a "yes" in agreement , more a "yes" to say "now lets move on to the next part of the agreed discussion".

If des bishop can learn the Irish Language in 1 year and the Irish education system can't teach it in 13 years them alarm bells should be sounding.

    Fair play to Bishop.

Better than all the other stuff that passes as comedy in Ireland.

The Late Late Show is poor. The Late Late Show should be a place for good Irish talent and debate. We only get westlife, lousis walsh, shyne ward etc and people trying to flog stuff.

    Any of Jonathan Ross' guests.

Actually, scrap that. They would be wasted on Kenny.

Cork did say "The Late Late Show should be a place for good Irish talent and debate." I am also interested in who Cork thinks should be brought on. Most people on any talk show are selling something.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,082 ✭✭✭lostexpectation

they should scrap the show, it#ll never improve, there's nothing better then jools holland on a friday

Funny stuff. You should go into stand up. Then you could go on The Late Late Show.
