I want to buy a Sigma 70-300mm APO (for Canon mount). Which (ebay) HK retailer is best to buy from?

I bought my Sigma 17-70mm from DigitalRev and got it in 2 days, but had to pay €50 in taxes. I hear UR Galaxy guarantees no tax or they will reimburse, but they do not have the APO model.

I can go into town and buy from Cons Cameras for €200 - but If I can save money I will, but if it is only ~€20 I won't bother...

    Any comments?
    Thanks

UR Galaxy will only apply that no tax to the UK. Also read the sticky for shops to check out.

I picked one up second hand in Cork Camera Centre (Closed) for €75.

Shop around for a good second hand one.:)

Unfortunately URgalaxy did not have the lens I wanted.

I bought my first Sigma 17-70mm from DigitalRev but got nabbed for €50 tax.

I wonder how URgalaxy do it?

They attach some fake papers saying the lens was sent for a warranty repair. And on that document it also says if any custom tax's need to be paid to charge some company in Switzerland :D

They are also a Hong Kong seller so you will be liable to VAT and Duty charges. VAT free guarantee doesn't apply to Ireland

Dam it! I can't believe i did not see that, I found it through a UK search engine and just thought they were from the UK. They do have a VAT reclaim form on there though, perhaps I can get it back?

Probably no point canceling order and trying to get refund etc as I paid using paypal and I'll loose money on teh reverse transaction...

I cancelled the order and got the refund ok thankfully - and actually found the lens on URgalaxy for even cheaper in the End!
