Cobra Airsoft + JG SIG 552

I've got two questions,

First off, has anyone here used/seen the JG SIG 552 at first hand, and if so, what did you think of it? I was looking for something a bit different than all the M16/G36s and this caught my eye.

2nd one is that most sites are listing it as 340-360 FPS, but Cobra airsoft have it as 300 FPS. I e-mailed them to confirm and they said that they tested it with 0.2g BBs and it was 300 FPS. Do you reckon its safe to believe them as I dont want it getting destroyed by customs. And has anyone ever used them before?

Unless it has been modified by the retailer everything I have seen about the JG Sig 552 would indicate it shoots over the joule from the factory, thats why I got a TM Sig 552 instead.

If the retailer is willing to test your AEG before shipping and include a letter indicating the tested muzzle energy of the AEG then maybe its worth considering. I'd be a bit wary though. Tony at eirsoft.ie may decide to get some downgraded ones in as he has done for other clones in the past.

Clones, not known for consistency. They could have chronoed a lemon.

Thanks lads, I seen a few videos alright chrono'ing them and they were all hot.
I was half hoping maybe cobra might be known for downgrading AEGs or something :P
Not worth the risk of ordering it and it being over 1j, I'll try find something else that tickles my fancy or save for the TM version.

If you pester gunner he may downgrade it for you but It'll cost you a bit I'd say.

I contacted Cobra a couple of weeks ago and they said they would downgrade an AEG for $25.
