Looks like the business this year, been to Donington the last 3 years running but there's a serious lack of metal on the '08 bill so I'm canning it.

Anyone already been to Wacken and if so, what's the easiest way to get there?

Can you buy slabs of beer in the campsites (a-la Donington)??

Anybody been to both festivals willing to throw out a few comparisons?

Opeth are the big draw for me there this year....

    Cheers

Haven't been to Donington since 1996 or Ozzfest since 1998, but been to Wacken around 4 times (not since 2003 mind). All you need to read really is the sticky on the metal ireland website. Just go to http://www.metalireland.com/, click on festivals on the left handside & you'll see the sticky. Could try to remember all the info for you, but that sticky is 36 pages long, so you should find out everything there is to know about Wacken by just browsing the pages! Either that or just use the search function here & I'm sure you'll find threads about Wacken from the last couple of years!
Imo, I'd prefer Graspop to Wacken (Opeth are playing there too). Both very enjoyable, but Graspop is much better organised, nicer toilets, cool beer garden, cheaper flights etc, etc.. But would recommend both over a UK festival anyday!

Bang on cheers for that man, there's a website I never knew existed!

Cool site, it turns out metal in Ireland goes further than Bruxelles on a Friday night!:D
