This might be of interest to iphone fans.
    Feel free to merge.
(Just thought it deserved a separate thread).

after watching the keynote there 1hr 10minutes or so and i've never been so exciting for a software update for a phone before.

the apps that the 3rd party developers wrote in two weeks that were shown at the keynote just goes to show how powerful this phone and mac os x actually is both as a mobile platform and a development platform.

the possiblities are endless now and i'd imagine will see offical apps like msn apps skype apps and god forbid bebo apps.

the exchange support is a massive deal, considering that the iphone tariffs and price are out of the price ranges of regular users (unless you take advantage of the weak dollar) so the majority of iphone users would be business people with a need for exchange support. exchange is also the one thing that's missing from the iphone currently but when released will no doubt pull in huge amount of customers.

i'd know i'd love to have my work email/calendar/global directory where ever i go. i am a little concerned about how the global directory is loaded into the contacts app, where i work the global directory is well in excess of 2000 and i would like a separate contacts book for my work and a separate one for my personal contacts, but i'm sure apple have thought of this, hopefully.

on a slightly non important note, i really like the way the new update is 2.0 and not this bull**** of 1.1.5, it takes so long to say 1.1.x in a conversation and due to my job i find myself talking about the iphone a lot

Yeah seems like a pretty big deal alright.
As you say, given its pricing being out of the range of many ordinary phone users this will now suit a lot of business users (ie a group that can actually afford the iphone).
