    Hi,

I was always a TM and CA fan because of the quality of their products.
While browsing for M4 replicas I came across this model and read many positive opinions about it.

I read that this gun looks and feels solid, it is precise, has a good punch and range.

Could the owners of this (or people who had the pleasure to hold it) share their experiences:

    - Rate of fire,
    - Effective range,
    - RELIABILITY (I want to use it and be confident it will not brake any moment)

    Thanks,

Not sure but I think that was reviewed in Airsoft international. I may be wrong but if i'm not I'll scan the artcile if you want.

    I would appreciate any help.

I read a big review on ArniesAirsoft forum and this seems to give me some idea.

If anyone has it long enough to tell me, how the gun performs after a couple of skirmishes (few thousand bb's shot), it would be great!

Every AEG will eventually brake. Most of the time its something small and simple. But it will happen....
    (cue manic laughter)

Never held a star aeg but i am at some point going to buy this becuase the build quality and look of it are unbeleavable.

I can't comment on the reliability of the Star M4A1 as I don't personally own one, but as for the rate of fire, my goodness it's astronomical using just a 8.4v battery. It can take a 9.6v battery no problem so it can only be higher still.
    Great piece of kit.

I've had the star m4a1 for about 6 months (i think) had no problems with it in terms of reliability rof is excellent as well as accuracy, only issues are when you want to do an modifications, the main one being that the stock tube is real steel compatible ( mil spec ) and it can be difficult to source a correct replacement as any stock/stock tube design for a normal age g&p/TM etc etc will have problems the stock tube will not fit and the stock will more than likely be to tight on the stars stock tube, also the thread on the flashhider is + which is different from the normal tm standard on - , apart from these problems/issues its an excellent bit of kit with the best finish on a body i've come across so far.

i would stay clear of the star m249s there one of there massive problem areas, compared to the m60 and newer m4/m16 lines there very very bad and bellow par

Good news. They did review it. It was actually a double review, the M4A1 and M16A3 in one.

Will scan it later but for now:
    Ratings:
    Externals-4/5
    Internals-4/5
    Accesories-2/5
    Performance-4/5
    Field Testing-4/5

    Overal: 4/5

    And their Final thoughts:

"It's difficult to get excited about M4s and M16's most of the time due to market saturation, but STAr are one manufacturer who've given serious thought to how they'r going to one-up over the other players in the marketplace. In general they've succeeded, with only a couple of minor issues that need to be addressed to make this an outstanding AEG. The quick change spring system is an impresive bit of design. Yes, its a bit slower to swap over than ICS's system but on the flip side there are no worries about the gearbox alignment. If you're looking for a solid AEG, with a couple of novel features, and the usefull ability to swap springs to change the FPS for different skirmish sites, then is definitely worth looking at STAR airsoft M4s and M16s."

    Rest soon,
    Lethal
