A friend got tickets to a ManU match in old trafford so we're off to Manchester on the 15/16th of march staying one maybe two nights, any recomendations on nightlife? I'm not a soccer fan but thought it would be a good experience to see a match in old trafford, I've only ever been to old trafford shopping centre.

We may be a bit on the poor side seeing as it'll be just after my birthday and paddys day.

Club scene in Manchester is quite good, there's actually a new club opened that looks really good.

You might want to check the dates of those match tickets, United are not playing at home on the 15th/16th match , they are playing at home on the 19th march which is a wednesday night
If you are looking for cheap drink, there is a Wetherspoons on Piccadilly gardens, you can get a pint for 1.40 or so onwards, cant go wrong at that price. !

Went out there in November on a Wednesday night and it was a good laugh. Very studenty and very lively. Think there's some place called the Paperworks or Steelworks are something, alot of spots around there.

I agree, Wetherspoons doesn't look much, I wouldn't go there at night, but it's handy during the day for meals - they do some lovely 'Mammy's dinners':D and usually have specials for dinner and a drink and stuff

No Tuesday night to Friday morning. It should have been shorter but I ****ed up the booking. I also ****ed up the booking for hostel but it looks like it's quiet over there.

The mates going to want to do the old trafford tour but I don't think we'll be going to any museums or art galleries. The temple looks like a laugh it's an old public toilets converted into a pub. Will give Wetherspoons a look for the scran on Thursday. Might stop into that comedy club too. Other than that we'll be doing our best to uphold the drunken Irish stereotype.:D
