Just had this from insurance company.

    Trailer attached is covered
    Trailer detached is not covered

We took it that the policy meant detached as in 'parked up', no it means breaks away i.e. "If trailer is being towed & becomes detached, it is no longer covered on the policy"

So, if any reason your trailer breaks off & lands in the sitting room of someones house & destroys some artifact work 4 million.. your not covered.

Check your hitch!!! .... and your policy

You can get seperate 3rd party cover for your trailer, it's compulsory for large trailers, that would cover breaking off the hitch.

And when towing your supposed to have a seperate safety line from the trailer attached to the towing vehicle.
